Brazil Nut & Kale Crackers

This ketogenic recipe ( was passed to me by the lovely Truefood Academy in Ireland ( Colette of True Food Academy, has been providing us with ongoing support with regards my son’s asthma. As well as being a fermentation expert (that deserves a post of its own!), she is passionate about bringing real food back into family life and this was one of her suggestions for family friendly snacks (we were removing gluten from his diet) and oh my these are good, they never hang around long in our household.

Try these as a snack or topped with guacamole, humus, sundried tomato & feta etc. for lunch.


Ready in

135g curly kale

135g Brazil nuts

125g pumpkin or hemp seeds

2 eggs

½ onion 2 tbsp coconut oil

2 tsp five spice powder

1-2 tsp salt.

Place all the ingredients into a powerful blender and blitz into a paste.

Spread the paste onto a lined tray as thinly as possible.

3. |

Bake at 150 degrees for 55 – 70 – to taste, depending on how crunchy you like them.

Allow to cool down and cut into snack sized pieces
